Quote of the week (on fireworks)
Last night, an electrical storm threatened to cancel my family's annual July 4th fireworks extravaganza. We had everything ready to go: the launchers were set on the ground, and six of us sat in two trucks on top of a hill with the fireworks in covered boxes in the truck beds. The storm came, the rain started, and lightning surrounded us. We decided to wait and see if the storm would pass around us.
As the storm grew in strength and the lightning grew closer and more violent, one of my cousins said, "We're sitting on one of the highest points of ground in this county, on top of a ton of explosives in an electrical storm. Is this smart?"
We thought about it for a minute, then went back to the house to wait out the storm.
