My conclusion?

Geoff Davis is a representative from a smallish district in Kentucky.  Barack Obama is the front runner in the campaign for the Presidency. If you were an editor, which story would you run with?

Tekk you what, let's do an experiment. How many Google News hits will I get for the Randi Rhodes flap?  146.

Come on Russ.  At least try.

Randi freaking Rhodes? Rich, you have got to be kidding me.

She's the Left's equivalent of Rush, which means she's a clown. She's not an elected member of Congress.

Come on, Rich. At least try.

I'm fairly certain that Randi Rhodes has more name recognition that Mr.Davis, which is the point.  The two stories you compare drew different coverage because of the relative newsworthiness of the subjects, not some imagined bias.

By that reasoning, since Obama was the subject of both stories, the Davis one should have garnered significant attention.

I find it hard to understand how a (seemingly willfully) dense mischaracterization by the media of a remark Obama made justifies 30 times the publicity of a racist remark from a sitting Congressman.
