"Baby Doc" Bush vetos bill banning waterboarding

George "Baby Doc" Bush vetoed a bill today that would have banned the CIA from torturing people using waterboarding. The bill would have required the CIA and other government agencies to abide by the interrogation guidelines set forth in the US Army Field Manual.

One retired general had this to say:

Retired Army Lt. Gen. Harry E. Soyster, a former director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, suggested that those who support harsh methods simply lack experience and do not know what they are talking about. "If they think these methods work, they're woefully misinformed," Soyster said at a news briefing called in anticipation of the veto. "Torture is counterproductive on all fronts. It produces bad intelligence. It ruins the subject, makes them useless for further interrogation. And it damages our credibility around the world."

Unfortunately, General Soyster's former Commander In Chief thinks it's just peachy to align his policies with Pol Pot, Idi Amin, and the Duvaliers of Haiti.

The damage to this country done by the Bush gang keeps growing every day.
