Edwards on Bush's final SOTU: "Groundhog Day"
Here's what John Edwards had to say about Bush's final State of the Union address:
Following the president's final State of the Union address last night, John Edwards told a crowd in Tulsa this morning that he doesn't know "how he [Bush] can say these things with a straight face anymore."
"Here's what I heard," he said. "What I heard was, more tax cuts for big business, more illegal spying on the American people, and ... everything's going great in Iraq. If we just stay on course and keep doing the same thing for however many years, everything's gonna be just fine. Boy, it sounded like Groundhog's Day to me."
Meanwhile, the corporate media are too busy reporting on the Clinton/Obama spats to acknowledge the truth of what Edwards is saying. No surprises there.
