Please note: I'm changing my RSS feeds

I'm changing the RSS feeds for this site from native Community Server feeds to Feedburner. If you've been using either my RSS feed or my Atom feed, please change your feed reader or aggregator to point to the new, sparkly feed.

For most feed readers and aggregators, the old feeds should automatically forward to the new one; I wouldn't bet the farm on it, though.

Your new sparkly feeds are crippled teasers. Annoying.

Yeah, I'm gonna change that back to the full text.

Done. The feed should now be the full text, along with hyperlinks and some basic formatting.

Sweet.

I've never understood blogs with crippled feeds. I get that they want you to come to their page so you can see it the way they want you to see it (read: ad revenue), but I read too many blogs to bother with one that can't be read in my feed reader.

I agree, Jonathan. I subscribe to a total of 283 feeds in Bloglines, which is insane, and the prospect of having to manually hit all those sites is even more insane.

Since I don't run ads on this site (and don't intend to), I don't think a summary feed is necessary or productive. Thanks for the feedback.

So, what helped you decide to use feedburner? I haven't convinced myself to change away from my rss and atom feeds.

Djuggler, the native RSS and Atom feeds within Community Server don't allow the detailed reporting that Feedburner does. All I could see for those native feeds were raw requests, but Feedburner breaks it down by client, clickthroughs, unusual uses, etc. Feedburner's reporting is a lot more informative.

WordPress doesn't give you anything detailed, either, afaik. But I just can't bring myself to use feedburner. I'm not sure why.
